Reveal: Winter at Fabrica

The winter season at Fabrica comprises a series of events, both inside and outside the gallery, that highlight artistic processes and different artistic voices.

The season begins in December with various events occupying the Fabrica Window on Duke Street. This ranges from a one-off video piece marking previous Fabrica artist Michaelangelo Pistoletto’s The Third Paradise: Rebirth Day to, in January, Inherent Process a short film season curated by artist Jayne Wilson.

From February onwards events use both the gallery space and the window screen. Our Making Space series continues with Making Ground a collaborative interdisciplinary project exploring site-specific making at a disused brickworks in Sussex. Over the course of a year, basketmaker Annemarie O’Sullivan and ceramicist Elaine Bolt have produced a series of collaborative works both on the land and in studio settings.

From February to April we have Queer Dreams Season – a mini-season of films presented with Dreamland Cinema and Eyes Wide Open Cinema. Also in February we have an artist talk with ceramicist Tanya Gomez talking about her project ‘A Day’ showing at the Saatchi Gallery from the 2 – 6 February. Jayne Wilson’s Inherent Process also returns to the Fabrica Window and to the gallery for a screening and an artist talk.

In March we host Draw to Perform: An International Festival of Drawing Performance. This two-day festival sees performance artists, dancers and musicians from all around the world perform live and features performances, workshops and screenings.
